The Honorary Consulate of Thailand in Tunis, which was officially launched on November 1st, 2012, is under the jurisdiction of the Royal Thai Embassy in Rabat. The main objectives of the Royal Thai Consulate are:

Thailand at a glance: Located in the heart of Asia, Thailand is a hub that allows you to be able to connect easily to big shot countries like China, Japan, Korea, India, Indonesia or even Australia. Tourism is the main industry in this country. Its history is rich with a civilization dating back to around 10th century and can be discovered through ancient temples and historic towns. Various places that are worth visiting: Tropical white sandy beaches in the south where you can swim almost all year round at the world famous seaside towns like Phuket, Krabi, Koh Samui, etc.

However, the old town is well preserved thanks to the many temples it houses everywhere. The country’s economy is now extensively based on exports of industrial products like cars & their parts, electronic & mechanic items, refined oil etc. which accounts for 45% of its GDP, and partly on agricultural products like rubber & rubber finished products, rice, sugar etc. which contribute to 10 % of its GDP. As a result, Thailand has emerged into a new semi-industrial group of countries. With regard to industrial products, there are also textiles, natural resources such as gypsum, lead, tin etc. to be explored by Tunisian traders.
